Review Bible Belles: Abigail, The Belle of Bravery

Kid's Book Review - Abigail-the-belle-of-bravery

It’s not hard to find uplifting positive stories for children, but it can be challenging to find one where the heroine is a little girl. When my daughters first read book one, Esther, the Belle Of Patience , in the Bible Belle series, I knew that I wanted them to read more. Abigail, The Belle of Bravery is now available in print and digitally. Once I downloaded the Kindle version to their device, my excited girls couldn’t wait to read about Rooney’s next big adventure.

Rooney is the main character who applies the lessons she learns from Biblical characters to the challenges that she faces in her own life. When I asked one of my daughters what she admires about Rooney, here is what she shared with me ” I like Rooney because she is just like me. She’s adventurous, has a lot friends, and cares about others. I liked Abigail, the Belle of Bravery because I’m eight and this series makes the women in the Bible appear powerful and relatable, I understand them a lot better when I read the Bible Belle series. ”

As a mother, I feel great knowing that my daughters can pick up a book that makes them feel good about themselves. I love that Rooney doesn’t seem to have all the answers on her own but is willing to seek Godly guidance for wisdom. When my daughters’ read the book, I could see their excitement.  The Bible Belle books are easy to read and very enjoyable for kids to read on their own or to read with their parents. The illustrations are contemporary and inviting. I highly recommend this series for parents; especially for those with young daughters.
