It’s no secret that Facebook can be addicting. For many people Facebook is a great way to connect with co-workers, family, friends, and long-lost relatives, etc. It also a great way to see what’s going in the lives of your friends as well. Did you know on average, Facebook users spend an about 40 minutes a day checking their Facebook feed? Well, these finding were confirmed in an article on Bloomberg.com, which also stated that over 40% of America’s population have Facebook accounts (Source). That’s a lot of time on the net.
Facebook is now one of the most common internet sites that people visit on all of their electronic devices especially their phones and tablets. Can you imagine what our Facebook usage says about our personality? Don’t worry, you don’t have to guess, one company, Cubeyou, has found a way to tell you a lot about who you are just by the way you use Facebook.
I was curious to see what my Facebook usage said about me, because as a blogger I tend to spend a lot of time on Social media. I’ve also tried to cut back spending time on Facebook because I want to spend my extra free time with my kids and not on the net.
Cubeyou created this cool app, and the premise is “You are what you like.” The best part of the app is that it is correct, well at least it was for me. I’m sure the accuracy rate varies for everyone, but it’s pretty fun to see if the things you like on Facebook can actually provide some insight about the type of person you are.
Cubeyou has worked in the marketing field for 4 years. Two years ago, in partnership with the University of Cambridge, they developed a Facebook app called YouAreWhatYouLike (http://youarewhatyoulike.com) that helps to uncover your personality based on your Facebook activity and background!
Not only can you see your personality according to Facebook, but you can see some of your closest friends as well. Definitely give the app a try then tell me what you think. Is it true for you or not?
If you look at the images above you can see my results. I’m definitely, conservative and traditional. But I couldn’t help but laugh when I also received emotional and stressed; LOL, yes that sounds pretty accurate too.
