5 Reasons to Have Your Thanksgiving Meal Catered #TTGODC

Mitsitam Cafe in Washington DC at the National Museum of the American Indian

My daughters were born in October and the next month was Thanksgiving. My first Thanksgiving meal as a mother was our worst Thanksgiving ever because my husband, twins, and I were alone. We didn’t go anywhere because I was too weak and too overwhelmed to cook. I didn’t even have the foresight to reach out to friends or family members and ask for help so we sat at home and ate whatever I had around the house. I remember wishing that day, that my husband knew how to cook. Now that I look back, if only I knew a Chef, like Executive Chef Freddie Bitsoie, from the Mitsam Cafe. I could have purchased dinner for the entire family and made the experience incredible.  Well, now that I know, I’m sharing all of the details.

Therefore, if you live near Washington, DC and you’re having a small gathering, office function, or meeting with friends, then please consider a Thanksgiving to Go meal.  I would totally hire Chef Bitsoie if we were hosting Thanksgiving at my home, but we are headed to PA. I did check out his wonderful American Cuisine so I could share all the details about the delicious menu which is colorful, healthy, and delicious.

5 Reasons to Have Your Thanksgiving Meal Catered

  1. You’ll have more time to spend with your family. Especially if you’re too busy to cook the food yourself.
  2. It could actually save money in the long run because you will have the exact quantity needed.
  3. The food will be good and you don’t have to worry about mystery dishes.
  4. It will also give you an opportunity to try something new.
  5. Last but not least, it can reduce the stress that sometimes comes with planning holiday meals, some of your time will be free to do other activities.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a long time then you’d know that I’m a vegetarian, so I’m always a little wary about eating at restaurants. A few years ago, I took my girls to the National Museum of the American Indian and we really enjoyed their vegetarian side dishes. Again, my girls and I were in for a treat. The sides at the Mitsitam Cafe were all vegetarian so we sampled every side and were pleasantly surprised. My daughters favorites were the Three Sisters Salad and the Pumpkin Bread, Chocolate Bread Pudding, sounds delicious right? My favorite was the a old classic, the mashed potatoes and butternut squash.
