I Believe in Therapy Workshop: A Recap and Call to Action

I Believe In Therapy is a Campaign that is a partnership between SCDAA, Pfizer and Cleverly Changing LLC.

Thank you to everyone who joined our “I Believe in Therapy” Workshop! It was truly inspiring to come together as a community and share our experiences with mental health, especially as we navigate the unique challenges faced by those living with sickle cell disease (SCD).

We understand that life with SCD is filled with obstacles—physically, emotionally, and mentally. But remember, you are not alone. We’re here to support you, and therapy can play a vital role in improving mental well-being and navigating life’s complexities.

Now that the workshop is over, we want to hear from you! Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we continue to shape future events. Please take a moment to complete the follow-up survey here: Survey Link.

Explore the Mental Health Toolkit

As part of our commitment to supporting the SCD community, we encourage you to check out our Mental Health Toolkit. This resource, available through the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA) website, provides practical tools for improving mental health, including:

  • Coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety
  • Therapeutic techniques that can be applied daily
  • Information on therapy options that might be right for you
  • Tips on building a support network

The toolkit is an excellent resource for both individuals living with SCD and caregivers, offering insights on how to better manage mental health challenges in the face of chronic illness.

Take Action: #SCDIBelieveInTherapy

We invite you to take a step further by sharing your personal “I Believe in Therapy” journey. After viewing the toolkit, create a short video where you say, “I Believe in Therapy” and share your reasons why. Let’s break the stigma surrounding mental health and therapy in the SCD community.

Scan the QR code on the right side of this page to access the toolkit and start your mental health journey today. Together, we can continue to support one another and grow stronger as a community.

Let’s keep the conversation going—#SCDIBelieveInTherapy!
