Get ready! The Washington Auto Show is back in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. This is the show’s 75th year, so it’s going to be a big celebration. The Washington Auto Show will be held at the Washington Convention Center from January 27-February 5, 2017.
Once a year, I like to keep my readers in tune with what is going on with new family vehicles, and the auto show really gives attendees a full understanding of what the best and latest vehicles are on the market today. Please follow me on Facebook because January 26 I will be sharing live footage from the auto show.
Top 5 family-friendly Washington Auto Show favorites
- The show welcomes families, including kids. In fact, kids under 5 years old receive free admission. Children from 6-12 receive a discounted ($5) admission tickets.
- The auto show has exhibits that celebrate creativity. For parents this exhibit show our kids that art can be an incredible career and artistic talents are desirable. This year they will have the following artists Chris Turner, Edward “Ed the Artist” Joseph, Jamaal “Jamaal Lamaaj” Newman, Shawn “SP the Plug” Perkins, and Superwaxx sharing during the “Art-of-Motion” Exhibit.
- Although, you can’t take your kids on a test drive. Several car brands at the auto show will allow attendees (who have valid driver licenses and are 18+) to ride and drive. So the inventory available to drive is going to be more vast than any car dealership in the area.
- Cool characters will be present for the enjoyment of the kids in your life (aunties and uncles, this would be a fun adventure). In the Ballroom, on Level 3 visit Daniel Tiger, Katerina Kittycat, Princess Pesto & other characters from SuperWhy!, Maya & Miguel, as well as characters from “Nature Cat,” “Ready Jet Go!” and “Peg + Cat.” Also, watch PBS kids’ cartoons on 10-ft HD video screens and get cool WHUT/PBS kids giveaways!
- If the environment and sustainability attracts you, then you need to be at the auto show for the Green Car Journal Announces Washington Auto Show Green Car Awards™ Finalists. Winners of the three awards will be announced on January 26 at The Washington Auto Show® in Washington DC.
