Our lives are indebted to all of the men and women that serve our country in the military. Their commitment to service ensures that we continue to live peaceably in our country while they defend our honor and our freedom. It is hard for us to truly convey how much they mean to us or how much we value them and their commitment, but I have compiled a list of 5 suggestions.
1. Say “Thank You” to veterans and military personnel. Verbally letting them know how much they mean to us is an easy free way to honor them.
2. Help fund Veteran charities. For example, a very easy way to do this is to donate good used merchandise for them to resale. To learn more about how to do this in your area visit the Military order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation.
4. Help assist the families of veterans. Operation Home Front lists several ideas that will assist families of Veterans this holiday season such as donating new toys to military kids.
5. Another way to show our gratitude and honor them is to present Veterans with a plaque.
Impact! Signs create custom military plaques that help commemorate their dedication to service. The plaques are personalized and can be shown indoors or outdoors.
The plaques are great because they are keepsakes that tangibly express how much their service is appreciated and recognized. You can also add photos to be etched on a plaque or on a cast marker. One of the worse things we as civilians can do is forget about the sacrifice others are making for us, these plaques are beautiful long lasting reminders never to be forgotten.
