Minecraft Enthusiasts Minefaire DC is Aug 19 and Aug 20

Hurray!!! I’m an ambassador for Minefaire DC. Come out and say, “Hi.”

Do you have young Minecraft enthusiasts who love everything related to Minecraft? Does your kid want to engage you and tell you about the world’s new mods and their amazing builds? Minecraft is an ever-changing gaming world that allows players to create, innovate, and explore. If you’re in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia areas don’t miss this opportunity to take your child on a fascinating experience to meet other Minecraft super fans, Youtube stars, and Entertainers.

WHEN IS MINEFAIRE?

August 19 and August 20 at the Dulles Expo Center in Fairfax, VA.

In exactly seven days you can experience Minecraft up close and personal near the DC metropolitan area.  If you’re familiar with Minecraft events, then you know that this amazing opportunity is new to our area. In fact, MineCon, the largest Minecraft convention that exists currently, is held in California and London, so having a Minecraft event close by is a dream come true.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND MINEFAIRE DC

Minefair is different from MineCon because it is “hosted by community-led partners such as Minefaire, Minevention and Blockfest (a brand new event by the nice folks at Multiplay). These partners (along with many more to come) have gained our [MoJong’s] official stamp of approval to throw authentic in-person Minecraft experiences. You’ll get to meet your favorite YouTubers and streamers, compete in tournaments and costume contests, see unique content and more (1).”

MINEFAIRE DC ACTIVITIES

  • Compete in Live Build Battles
  • Win Prizes for Best Costume
  • Meet your favorite Minecraft YouTubers and ask them anything
  • Learn Minecraft tricks and techniques from certified Minecraft Educators
  • Take home hard-to-get Minecraft® swag from official Minecraft vendors

We’re so excited about Minefaire DC this year because my children now have an opportunity to watch their gaming world come to life. Last school year, was our first year incorporating a Minecraft course into our curriculum. As a result, I’m amazed at how much my daughters learn from Minecraft: Education Edition. They both frequently tell me about different types of woods, Redstone (electricity generator), biomes, etc. Their knowledge about building and foundations has also expanded tremendously. We use the game to bring student-directed hands-on STEM experience to our lessons. Minecraft continues to allow my children to have fun while learning through play.

I never even knew there were events for this. In my field I work with a lot of kids who are completely into it.

Omg my son would be happy, he loves minecraft. I wish i could take him.

  • Do you know, I still have no idea how to traverse minecraft waters. My kids haven’t discovered it, but we may introduce it this school year as one of their tech classes. Too bad I don’t live near DC because I could use some guidance.

I am a gamer but I have never played minecraft. I will keep this in mind if I come across anyone who does!
