Traveling is always a fun experience, especially when it is somewhere you have never been. So take a trip to explore and look around at what new places offer. Many large cities offer public transportation that anyone can take to all of the must-see local and famous spots. But in Iceland, to see the whole island, you will need to rent a car. If you are going to be traveling outside of Reykjavik, which is the capital city, consider Lotus Car Rental Iceland for your rental car needs.
Take a Trip to Iceland For Their Scenic Views
Iceland is a small island off the coast of Europe. Since it is relatively small and has fewer people, no real public transport is available to take anyone from across the island to the other side. People usually rent a car when they get into the country so they can go and see all the sights. Iceland is known for the different environments that exist there. It has glaciers and ice, but there are volcanoes with fiery brimstone. People are flocking to see the beautiful scenery and get a glimpse into the wonder and breathtaking views of this small country.
These 6 Breathtaking Tourists Spots Are The Reason You Should Take A Trip to Iceland
Reykjavik is the primary and thriving city in Iceland. It has more of a small town feel than the large city that it is. With rows of colored wooden homes and plenty of clubs, pubs, and nightlife, there is plenty to see and do in the city.
On the northwest part of the island sits the Westfjords. This peninsula has some of the most beautiful views; towering mountains in the distance and the long coastline with plenty of fjords sticking out for all to see.
3. Blue Lagoon
The lagoons in Iceland are famous, and the Blue Lagoon is the priciest, but still a hit with tourists. There are other hot springs throughout the country. The geothermal plant heats these geothermal pools through the seawater which gives the Blue Lagoon its distinct bright blue color.
4. Golden Circle
The Golden Circle comprises multiple sites along the way, which can only take a day for all to see. The first stop is Langjokull, which is the country’s second largest glacier, and the waterfall is Gullfoss. The glacier feeds the giant waterfall with its’ stunning gorge. This is a great place to go for a hike. Geysir is exactly what it sounds like, a geyser. It does not erupt as it did years ago, but every ten minutes it does spout water about 15 to 20 meters in the air. Another excellent place for a hike is to see the farmland views. Thingvellir is known for the only place in the world where you can see two tectonic plates separate above sea level. The landscape is spectacular, and it is another great walk.
5. Aurora Borealis
From early fall to early spring is the best time to see the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. Still considered one of the unique natural wonders in the world, these dancing, and shimmering lights can make anyone’s jaw drop. Unfortunately, they are not on a timer nor planned, so it takes a little luck. The best way to see them is in the dark, cross your fingers and patiently wait. You may have to head to the northern towns to see them better. If the Aurora Borealis is active and bright enough, you may see them from Reykjavik.
6. Jokulsar Lagoon
Jokulsar Lagoon is a relatively new tourist area since it has only existed for less than 80 years. It has a marvelous view of the lagoon, as well as the opportunity to watch icebergs crash down as they are heading out to the ocean. If you want to see more of it, you can have the option of taking a boat tour around the lagoon.
There is so much to do and see around the island. Therefore, I highly recommend that you take a trip there if you can. From the spectacular and once-in-a-lifetime views to the submersion in nature, the best way to see it all is to get out from the city and head somewhere. Look for fun and new things all over the small island. More and more people are heading to Iceland every year. Is there any reason people should not come with so many things to do and see?
