Wheatgrass is an edible grass, yes, it looks like regular blades of grass, but it is great for people who are interested in being healthy. Wheatgrass is a known super food. Unfortunately there are not numerous studies provided by the medical community to help support these health claims, but people who have used wheatgrass report healthy living claims.

In fact, WebMD states

Activz Wheatgrass ReviewWheatgrass is used for increasing production of hemoglobin, the chemical in red bloodcells that carries oxygen; improving blood sugar disorders, such as diabetes; preventing tooth decay; improving wound healing; and preventing bacterial infections…Other uses include treatment of respiratory tract complaints, including the common cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore throat; tendency toward infection; gout; liver disorders; ulcerative colitis; joint pain; and chronic skin problems.

According to Dr. Mercola a Licensed Physician and Surgeon:

The Hippocrates Health Institute, for example, has a long list of purported benefits of wheatgrass, including the following (for the full list, please see the HHI web site):

      • Increases red blood-cell count; cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract; simulates metabolism
      • Stimulates your thyroid gland
      • Reduces over-acidity in your blood and relieve peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal complaints
      • Detoxifies your liver and blood and chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants
      • Its high chlorophyll content may help oxygenate your blood. Keeping a tray of live wheatgrass near your bed may also enhance the oxygen in the air and generate healthful negative ions to help improve your sleep
      • May help reduce damaging effects of radiation, courtesy of the enzyme SOD—an anti-inflammatory compoundActivz Wheatgrass Review

In order to receive the benefits of wheatgrass a high-powered blender like a Vitamix or special wheatgrass juicer needs to be used. Activz has made benefiting from wheatgrass much easier. Their powered formula is blended fresh and uses only the highest quality of organic ingredients. Activz doesn’t use artificial, synthetic, or preservatives in their whole food powders which helps keep their products as natural as possible. As a mom, who is into preventative healthcare, I feel reassured using their powders because Activz powered formula’s are whole foods which come directly from the farm to a person’s table. The wheatgrass powered formula is great because it is easy to store, the powder doesn’t make the smoothie taste grainy. It blends easily and it’s healthy. Activz has yummy recipes and a free download too!
