FREE Pizza and Six Flags for Homeschoolers

Reading Programs for homeschoolers
We are a homeschooling family and from time-to-time, I come across some really great resources that are available for our homeschool students. Homeschoolers should take advantage of these reading programs quickly because I am not sure how long their registration will stay open.

Are you looking for programs to help encourage your child to read more? Are you a homeschooler and looking to find free incentives that will reinforce the message of loving books? If so, there are two programs that should peak your child/children’s interest:

Book It Reading Programs

Incentive – Free personal pan pizzas for students.

As a kid, I loved this program. It really helped me stay excited about reading. I am glad I’m able to share this same program with my own kids.

 Here’s how the program works:

BOOK IT! runs every school year from October through March.  The teacher sets a reading goal for each child in the class.  A tracking chart and reproducibles are included to make it that much easier.  And, we now offer an online Teacher Dashboard and BOOK IT! app! As soon as a child meets the monthly reading goal, the teacher gives him or her a Reading Award Certificate.

On your child’s first visit to Pizza Hut, the award winner will receive their Personal Pan Pizza, and also an official BOOK IT!® Passport to Reading and sticker to track their reading throughout the six months. On subsequent visits, he or she will get another Personal Pan Pizza and sticker to add to his or her passport. View the passport here!

The Children's Museum of Richmond (Central location) also provides one free book to kids.

Six Flags Reading Program #educhat #learning #homeschool

Six Flags Reading Programs

* Incentive – Free Six Flags park admission tickets for students. Only one homeschool adult per house is eligible for a free ticket.

Once your child has logged 6 hours of reading time, the student will be eligible to receive Six Flags tickets in the spring.

“Read to Succeed is an exciting program that encourages students in grades K through 6 to read for fun. Students who complete six hours of recreational reading earn a free ticket to Six Flags! The program is available to teachers and schools at no cost to participate, and it’s a great way to motivate kids to read.”

For homeschoolers interested in participating, Six Flags opens its 2017-2018 their “Read to Succeed” registration in October! (Deadline for logging your student’s reading hours is: March 1, 2017 at 5 pm CST) check back in October and visit the link below.
