Berry Healthy Smoothie Treat No Sugar Added Recipe

As a parent I try to keep at least three healthy options on hand for my daughters. One of their favorites during the summer months is 100% fruit ice-pops. Currently, I use Volcano Fillable ice-pops (VFI) by Prepara to make their treats. My girls like all types of fruit, but I typically use bananas and blueberries to make one of their favorite treats because I buy organic fruit in the summer and freeze it so I will always good quality fruit in the house.

Berry Healthy Treat Instructions

Blueberry Banana Smoothie

I purchase the fruit fresh, cut it up, and then place the fruit in a freezer bag. Next I store the bags in the

freezer. When I am ready to make the treat I pull out our blender and place the following ingredients inside:

  • 2 bananas, peeled, frozen and sliced.
  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup of orange/apple juice (you can use others types of juice as well, but adding juice helps it to blend better)
  • 1 Tablespoon of honey to sweeten (*Optional)

I place the fruit in first, then I add the juice and blend it altogether on low. Once well blended, I pour the blended juice into the VFI containers and put them back into the freezer. When they are ready I put warm water in a bowl, let the VFI containers sit in the bowl for a about 3 seconds and then viola they easily pop out. Next you can fill it with fresh blueberries or yogurt and they are ready to be enjoyed.

I was not paid to share this product with you; however the amazon link is an affiliate link. Overall, this is just a product that me and my family really enjoy.
