Sippy Cups (part 2)

This review is not a sponsored post, it is based on a products I purchased on my own and evaluated.

This post is part 2 of my Sippy Cups series.

Playtex BPA Free Lil Gripper – 9 oz – 2 Pack

This cup has all 7 of the features that I desire in a training cup. Below I outline how the cup meets my standards and I relate it to our own experiences. Most important, is that my children liked these cups. Below I share with you why I like Playtex’s BPA Free Lil Gripper. This post is a part of a series to click here: view part 1 and part 3.

No spill sippy cups

This cup is 100% leak proof. One of my daughters knew how to unscrew her bottle, but this one was not a problem because she was never able to unscrew it. We have owned this cup for almost 2 years (now we only use it in the car), but it never leaked. However you have to follow the instructions on the packaging and twist the cap until you hear and feel that the lid is closed. There is a mark on the cap that you indicates where it should be, don’t just twist it until its at the tightest point. If the valves leak, they need to be replaced and most drug stores sell the inserts / valves.

BPA Free sippy cups

The cup is not made of hard plastic and is dishwasher safe. It does not contain BPA. The cup is durable and will last a long time and remain in good condition.

Easy to hold sippy cups

The cup has little side grippers that allow your child to wrap his or her hand around the bottle of the cup.

Easy to clean sippy cups

You must use  a bottle brush to clean the inside and the top of the cup.  I don’t recommend using a sponge bottle brush; instead, I think you should use a brush with bristles and sometimes place it in the dishwasher. The valves inside should be cleaning with a small nipple brush and are easy to clean when you remove it from the top.

Small spout sippy cups

The spout is small, but not soft. I started using this cup when were about 6 months, at first they were tempted to chew on the it, but that was short lived.

Size

This cup holds about 15oz so it is satisfying without a need to be refilled constantly.

Longest range of usage

I have almost had the cup for almost 2 years so you will be able to keep for a long time. However over time, you will probably need to purchase a replacement valve, but they are inexpensive to purchase.
