Giveaway DVD of Daphne and Velma

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with all the assets regarding the Blu-ray I talked about in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

In 2017, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported “The STEM group that is projected to grow fastest from 2014 to 2024 is the mathematical science occupations group at 28.2 percent, compared with the average projected growth for all occupations of 6.5 percent” (Fayer, Lacey and Watson, 2018). Thus, there is no wonder that STEM fields are the most popular among todays college graduates. What does STEM fields have to do with the Scooby Doo related DVD of Daphne and Velma? Well, this movie takes place during modern times and Daphne and Velma rely heavily on technology at their high school. In the movie both of Daphne’s parents work in STEM fields which helps project how things may be in the future. I also, I enjoyed sharing this show with my own daughters because they are huge Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fans

A Brief Synopsis About the DVD of Daphne and Velma

“State of the art robots and high-tech gadgets are common sights at Ridge Valley High, an innovative center of learning for some of the brightest minds in the country, including new transfer student, the bright & optimistic Daphne Blake (Sarah Jeffery) who is excited to finally go to school with her online bestie, the whip-smart & analytical Velma Dinkley (Sarah Gilman). Blogger Interview With Sarah Gilman (the actress who played Velma)

(Some of the interview highlights) Blogger: What do you think makes Scooby Doo so timeless that it can be enjoyed by so many generations?  Sarah Gilman: “The relationship between these five friends. I grew up watching them and watching them interact as five best friends doing what they love together and I always wanted that to translate into my life and my own group like that. So watching the dynamic and their chemistry, even though they are cartoons, is what attracted me to the show.  The mystery genre, ‘who done it’ and who’s under the mask is a timeless genre that keeps you on your toes. You think it’s going to be this person but it ends up being another person. It’s something fun for all ages to try and figure it out.  I also think that the nostalgia of watching something that you watched as a kid draws the whole family in. ”

Blogger: What do you want girls to take away from the film? Sarah Gilman: “Girls can do anything…period. Girls can do anything guys can do but just do anything, period. These girls aren’t damsels in distress waiting to be rescued. They are proactive and fast thinking and they are very real characters that are scared at times and they find strength and inner courage to keep moving forward.”

Blogger: Who do you feel you relate to most? Sarah Gilman: “Definitely Velma, I’m a rational thinker. I think there were times that I was just method acting, we just connected so closely on certain traits that it didn’t feel like I was acting and it felt like I was settling into myself.” Enter to win Daphne and Velma DVD on CleverlyChanging

Review: DVD of Daphne and Velma

I watched the DVD of Daphne and Velma with my daughters because after watching the prefer I thought it might be a little scary. It wasn’t at all. Okay confession time, when I was a kid I didn’t watch Scooby Doo that often because it scared me. This movie isn’t scary and is rather cool seeing the tricks unfold as the movie plays out. Overall, the film is positive and shows girls taking charge. It’s also a little silly and quirky too so it’s pure entertainment.
