A Bible Challenge For Kids and Beautiful Word Review

A Bible Challenge For Kids and Beautiful Word Review

I received a copy of the NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for Girls Gift Set from Zondervan (HarperCollins Christian Publishing) for this review.  This post is sponsored by Zondervan.

Growing up my mom always wanted me to have my own Bible and so she made sure I had one that I liked and understood. Reading the Bible was a big memorable part of my childhood, so when Fly By promotions gave me the opportunity to review the Beautiful Word Coloring Bible I jumped at the chance. I also recognized that this would give us a reason to create and complete a Bible Challenge together as a family.

Here’s a brief backstory, I have always loved stories and poetry, so reading the Bible was an enjoyable experience for me growing up. In high school, I remember participating in my first paid Bible challenge, which motivated me to read my Bible through from cover to cover. This year in our homeschool we are going to challenge our girls to do the same.

Make sure your children have a bible they can understand so the experience will be personal.

Find a Bible Reading program that outlines the days and passages that need to be read daily.

If your children are not strong readers, you can let them list to an audio Bible as well.

Make the experience fun and not forceful.

Consider providing reasonable incentives to keep them engaged.

Make it into a game or give writing prompts to encourage their engagement and focus..

Here is a link to a resource that I use for my own daughters: 44 weeks preteen and teen Bible Reading plan that only requires 10 minutes of reading a day.

Real Talk, What You Should Keep in Mind

The pages or thin, so I wouldn’t let my child use a pen or marker to color the pages. I’d only allow color pencils to be used.

If your child is really into coloring and you want her to enjoy the experience more, then I recommend getting him or her additional color pencils. The bible comes with just four solid colors so purchase a quality set.
