Loc Styles: Braided Nubian Loc Crown

Loc Goddess Braid / braided nubian loc crown how-to tutorial

Twelve years ago I decided to loc my hair. I was natural for 4 years prior to making the commitment to loc my hair because my wash days were tiring me out. Generally, I wore head wraps, but would do a style on the weekends. I was in college and didn’t have time to worry about my hair. However, I knew staying natural was the only way for me to remain healthy so I gathered my courage and embraced myself and all the kinkiness of my hair. During my freshman year of college, I realized that hair was not that important and if I was going to take 17 credit hours I was either going to study or spend that time on my hair. The choice for me was a no-brainer, I chose my education.

Now 12 years later, I am resolved that I made the best decision ever. To keep from growing tired of my locs. Therefore, each Wednesday, I will post a new loc/hair style on my YouTube channel. This week’s style was inspired by a braided crown that was popular in the late 90s. Below is a picture of the style with a modern new millennial twist.
