Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Video and Activity

The life of Dr. Martin Luther King can be remembered in many ways, but one of the ways I like to remember him best is to listen to his eloquent words. To hear his voice sends chills down my spine. About a year and a half ago, my daughter developed a love for his words too. I was unaware of her love for Dr. King, until I came across an unusual recording. The recording is of my daughter saying Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream Speech,” she was around 6 or 7 at the time.  She didn’t know all of the words, but she tried her best to say them correctly. Listening to her, makes me smile because when I was a little girl, like her, I dreamed of speaking to millions of people about civil rights and our love for mankind. It’s funny how we see ourselves in our children.
